- Groups & Categories
-
- Group screening format: all entries passing the preliminary review are divided into two camps, the "Red Group" and the "White Group"
- Entries are played group by group; after the contest ends, the total scores of the Red and White groups are calculated from the professional judges' scores, and the higher-scoring side receives a special small gift prepared by the organizer
- Group assignment and random matching follow the principle of "same type versus same type" (e.g. AMV vs AMV, still-image style vs still-image style) as far as possible, though cross-type matches may occur due to differing submission numbers in each category
- Judging
-
- All works undergo an online preliminary review after the deadline, and finalists are selected on merit; the number of entries screened offline is kept at around 25 (adjusted according to the total length of all qualifying works)
- If total submissions do not reach the cap, all works are deemed shortlisted
- After the deadline and judging, honors and prizes are awarded based on judges' scores, audience scores and the works' performance
- Online viewers can vote and interact during the livestream
- Every submitted work, shortlisted or not, receives brief comments and suggestions from at least one judge
- The final interpretation of score statistics and award attribution rests with the Red-White MAD Contest organizing team; the final format may be further adjusted on site
